Leesburg, Fla. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse softball team opened its 2022 spring trip with a pair of wins in three games. The Eagles earned a 7-0 victory over Wesleyan University (Ct.) March 12 before splitting a pair of games March 13. UWL defeated Endicott College (Mass.), 8-0 in six innings, before losing 5-0 to Rowan University (N.J.). UWL is now 4-3 on the season.
In the win over Wesleyan (Ct.), UWL took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on

Jordyn McCormack. The Eagles added three runs in the second, including an RBI single from
Kendra Leis. UWL added two unearned runs in the inning.Â
UWL scored single runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings.
Hailey Pitzl scored on a Wesleyan (Ct.) error in the third while Lard had an RBI single in the fourth and
Ellie Yaeger a run-scoring RBI groundout in the fifth.Â
UWL had 12 hits in the game as Lard went 4-for-4 with two RBI.
Anna Jensen finished 3-for-4 with a run while Leis went 2-for-5 with two runs and an RBI.Â
Ally Eden earned the win, pitching 5.0 innings, allowing two hits and two walks.
Remington Stark went 2.0 innings, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out six.Â
Versus Endicott (Mass.),
Elise Weinzierl earned the complete-game victory. She pitched 6.0 innings, allowing three hits with three strikeouts. Endicott (Mass.) did not advance a runner past second base.Â
The Eagles took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second on
Hailey Jibben's two-run home run and Yaeger's solo home run. UWL added three runs in the third. Leis hit a lead-off home run while Pitzl recorded an RBI double and later scored on a wild pitch. McCormack hit a solo home run in the fourth while McCormack's RBI groundout in the bottom of the sixth ended the game.Â
Seven different players had a hit for UWL while eight different players scored a run. McCormack and Jibben each had two RBI.Â
Rowan (N.J.) scored twice in the bottom of the first in its win over UWL while adding two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth. Leis, Jensen and Jibben each had a hit for UWL. Maddie Lee suffered the loss, pitching 1.0 inning, allowing three hits, two runs and two walks.Â
UWL returns to action Monday, March 14 facing Framingham State University (Mass.) at 1:45 p.m. (Central) and Lasell University (Mass.) at 4:15 p.m. (Central).
