Decorah, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving teams captured the two-day Luther College (Iowa) Invitational Saturday. The Eagles totaled 801 team points with host Luther (Iowa) second with 633 points and Saint Ambrose University (Iowa) third with 632. A total of six teams competed.
In Friday's action,
Autumn Seebach and
Hannah Martini each won individual crowns with Seebach winning the 100 backstroke (59.76) and Martini the one-meter diving (399.90 points). UWL's 400 medley relay of Seebach,
Makenzie Wallace,
Maddy Albert-Nelson and
Brooke Laube placed first (3:40.77).
Erika Hysalliu placed second (389.20 points) in the one-meter diving while
Joanne Banaszak was third (387.90),
Laci Gottschalk fourth (384.10) and
Madeline Weber fifth (374.70).
Albert-Nelson was third (2:15.51) and
Abi Schauske eighth (2:25.85) in the 200 butterfly. Wallace placed fourth (2:36.96),
Lily Rosenau fifth (2:39.09) and
Alyssa Wallander sixth (2:39.11) in the 200 breaststroke. Seebach was also fifth (1:03.86) in the 100 I.M. while Albert-Nelson was sixth (1:03.80) in the 100 backstroke. Laube was sixth (56.21) and
Paige Rundahl eighth (57.46) in the 100 freestyle.
UWL's 200 freestyle relay of
Lindsey Evenson, Laube, Rundahl and
Molly Banks placed second (1:42.57) with Seebach, Laube, Rundahl and Wallace second (8:26.82) in the 800 freestyle relay.
In Saturday's action, Martini won the three-meter diving crown (434.65) with Banaszak second (410.70), Weber third (408.50), Gottschlak fourth (407.95) and Hysalliu fifth (356.50).
Lauren Steien was second (1:01.11) in the 100 butterfly while Seebach was fourth (2:11.38) in the 200 backstroke and fifth (2:01.39) in the 200 freestyle.
Jordy Hahlen was fifth (2:13.16) and
Kylee Sommer sixth (2:15.91) in the 200 backstroke while
Alexis Hoeben placed fourth (25.52) and Sommer sixth (25.69) in the 50 freestyle. Wallander was sixth (1:13.01) in the 100 breaststroke.
Amelia Olson finished fifth (19:24.42),
Madison Richter seventh (19:40.92) and
Sydney Guenther eighth (19:43.77) in the 1,650 freestyle.
UWL's 200 medley relay of
Jordy Hahlen, Steien,
Grace Radke and Sommer were third (1:53.46) while Steien, Seebach, Sommer and
Amanda Richards were sixth (3:51.67) in the 400 freestyle relay.
