Brown Deer, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's swimming & diving team competed at the All-Wisconsin Showcase Saturday at Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center. No team scores were recorded. Along with UWL, the meet featured the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, UW-Green Bay, Carthage College (Wis.), St. Norbert College (Wis.), UW-Oshkosh and UW-Whitewater.
In Saturday's diving, the Eagles'
Hannah Martini placed fourth (232.05) in the three-meter competition and fifth (216.30) in the one-meter.
Laci Gottschalk was sixth (212.03) in one-meter and seventh (201.23) in three-meter while
Madeline Weber was eighth (199.50) in one-meter and ninth (195.15) in three-meter.
Lauren Feder finished 10th (190.58) in three and 11th (175.65) in one-meter.
Joanne Banaszak placed sixth (223.43) in the three-meter.
UWL's
Jordy Hahlen,
Lauren Steien,
Maddy Albert-Nelson and
Paige Rundahl finished second (1:50.80) in the 200 medley relay on Saturday while
Reilly Eiynck,
Emily Schoenbrodt, Rundahl and
Brooke Laube were third (3:43.90) in the 400 freestyle relay.
Individually, Hahlen recorded a pair of top-six finishes, placing third (1:00.00) in the 100 backstroke and sixth (2:14.17) in the 200 backstroke.
Autumn Seebach was sixth (1:00.80) and
Amanda Richards eighth (1:02.22) in the 100 backstroke with Rundahl eighth (2:15.61) and
Kylee Sommer 11th (2:17.37) in the 100 backstroke. Seebach was fifth (4:55.67),
Lily Rosenau eighth (5:04.72),
Makenzie Wallace 10th (5:06.20),
Riley Siegle 11th (5:07.99) and
Claire Vandenhouten 12th (5:11.73).
Rundahl finished eighth (25.50),
Molly Banks ninth (25.61) and Laube and Sommer tied for 10th (25.63) in the 50 freestyle.
Molly Banks finished 10th (56.41) in the 100 freestyle.
Other top-12 individual finishes included Vandenhouten fifth (5:32.02),
Emma Truman seventh (5:34.00),
Amelia Olson ninth (5:37.40) and
Madison Richter 11th (5:43.38) in the 500 freestyle. Wallace was ninth (1:11.08) in the 100 breaststroke while Steien was ninth (2:33.69) in the 200 breaststroke.
Steien and Albert-Nelson tied for fifth (1:00.84) in the 100 butterfly. Albert-Nelson was also fourth (2:14.95) in the 200 butterfly with Steien seventh (2:20.06) and
Grace Radke 12th (2:27.70).
UWL returns to action with its divers on Saturday, October 29 at the Cows, Colleges, and Contentment Classic in Northfield, Minnesota. Members of the swimming team will return to action Saturday, November 5 at UW-Eau Claire.
