La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team, ranked 15th on the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 Poll, earned a 7-0 win over the University of Dubuque (Iowa) Wednesday night at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. The Eagles improve to 14-1-1 while the Spartans drop to 5-3-7.
UWL now leads the all-time series, 3-1, with Dubuque (Iowa).

The Eagles got on the board at 7:16 on

Maggie Hernandez assist for a 1-0 lead. UWL took a 2-0 lead at 11:01 on a
Ellie Behnke goal.
Maggie Hernandez made it 3-0 at 19:49. The Eagles out shot the Spartans, 15-3, in the first half.
Hernandez scored UWL's first three goals in the second half. Her second of the game gave the Eagles a 4-0 lead at 48:48 on
Claire Cater's assist. Her third goal came at 52:48 on assists from
Chelsea Gale and
Ellie Arndt to make it 5-0 and Hernandez' fourth goal of the contest at 58:00 gave UWL a 6-0 lead.
Lindsey Szymanski recorded the assist.
Lucy Quidzinski recorded the Eagles' final goal at 87:30 to make it 7-0.
UWL totaled 35 shots Wednesday with 22 on goal. Hernandez had eight shots, including five on goal. Cater and
Kaitlyn Kurtz each had four shots with Kurtz recording three on goal. Fifteen different players finished with a shot in the game.
Hernandez is the fourth player in school history to score at least four goals in a game and the first since
Sophie Amundson versus The College of St. Scholastica (Minn.) on August 30, 2019.
Jennifer Tischaefer (vs. UW-Superior on October 23, 1999) and
Jessica Manchester (vs. UW-Superior on September 16, 2000) each scored a school record five goals in a game. Tischaefer also had four goals against UW-Superior (September 6, 1997 and October 30, 1998).
Dubuque (Iowa) had six shots in the game with none on goal.
UWL had nine corner kicks in the game.
McKenna Lloyd (55:47) and
Robin Blair (34:13) combined on the shutout for the Eagles. Elisa Langer (45:00) recorded five saves and Karissa Chalus (45:00) finished with 10.
UWL returns to action Saturday, October 22 hosting UW-Oshkosh at 6 p.m. It will be Senior Night in the Eagles' regular-season home finale.
