Lansing, Mich. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's cross country team placed third out of 36 teams at the Olivet College (Minn.) National Preview Meet Saturday at Forest Akers Golf Course. The Eagles finished with 108 team points. Massachusetts Institute of Technology won the team title with 62 points while North Central College (Ill.) was second with 98.
Isaac Wegner was fourth.
UW-Whitewater placed fourth (147) and George Fox University (Ore.) fifth (187). Loras College, Iowa was sixth (203) followed by Otterbein University, Ohio (224), Wilmington University, Ohio (273), the University of Chicago, Ill. (276) and Connecticut College (301) to round-out the top-10.
The Eagles'
Ethan Gregg won the individual title on Saturday with a time of 24:12.3 on the 8,000-meter course. It is Gregg's second straight individual crown after winning the University of Roy Griak Invitational on September 23.
Isaac Wegner was fourth overall (24:33.4) with
Parker Huhn 24th (25:18.4) and
Corey Fairchild 31st (25:23.6).

Austin True ninth (26:40.9) and
Joe Sullivan 10th (26:41.6).

Sebastian Baker 17th (26:59.4),
Michael Madoch 21st (27:08.2),
Phillip Houston 22nd (27:14.5),

UWL won the open race with 30 points. A total of 123 runners competed.
The NCAA Division III Championships will be held at Forest Akers Golf Course on Saturday, November 19. UWL returns to action Saturday, October 15 hosting the Jim Drews Invitational at 12 p.m. at Maple Grove Venues, LLC.
