St. Charles, Mo. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics team dropped its dual at Lindenwood University (Mo.) Saturday night in Robert F. Hyland Arena. Lindenwood (Mo.) finished with a team score of 191.325 while UWL totaled 188.750.
UWL recorded scores of 47.700 on the vault, 45.375 on the uneven parallel bars, 47.650 on the balance beam and 48.025 on the floor exercise. The team set season-highs in overall, vault, balance beam and floor exercise.
Cate Sandvik tied for second on the floor exercise.
Emma Grant and
Cate Sandvik recorded second-place finishes for UWL on Saturday night with Grant second on the balance beam (9.800) and Sandvik tied for second on the floor exercise (9.725). Sandvik was also sixth on the balance beam (9.650).
Grant's score of 9.800 on the balance beam is tied for the fourth-highest in school history.
The Eagles'
Sara Beck tied for third on the vault (9.575) with
Madi Vanderpool fifth (9.550).
Kyla Dickson,
Megan Hawkins and
Alex Wood all tied for sixth (9.525).
Rachel Chesley and
Jessica Taylor tied for fourth on the floor exercise (9.625) while
Jenna Danninger finished sixth (9.600).
UWL's
Kerrie Legault finished fourth (9.550) on the uneven parallel bars with Vanderpool tied for fifth (9.525). On the balance beam,
Olivia Opheim placed seventh (9.600) and
Jordyn Faust eighth (9.375).
UWL returns to action Friday, January 21 at UW-Stout at 6 p.m.
