De Pere, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 4-1 win at St. Norbert College (Wis.) Saturday night at Schneider Stadium. The Green Knights drop to 0-2 on the season.
UWL took a 1-0 lead at 26:02 with
Ainsley Allan scoring with an assist from
Sydney Halstead. The Eagles led, 1-0, at halftime.
Sophie Amundson made it 2-0 at 65:39, assisted by
Isabel Batley.
Camryn Hart's goal at 69:06 with an assist from
Natalie Schisel gave UWL a 3-0 lead. Halstead's goal at 72:25 on a penalty kick made it 4-0.
St. Norbert (Wis.) avoided the shutout with Kait Schweitzer scoring at 76:33. Lizze Guerin recorded the assist.
UWL finished with 19 shots in the game, including 13 on goal. Halstead totaled five shots with four on goal. Hart had three shots in the game, all coming on goal, while Amundson had two shots with both on goal.
St. Norbert (Wis.) totaled 11 shots with six goal.
Sophia Anger earned the win in goal for UWL, finishing with five saves in 78:04.
McKenna Lloyd played in the final 11:56. Lilly Collins recorded nine saves for St. Norbert (Wis.).
UWL returns to action Tuesday, September 7 at Augsburg University (Minn.) at 7:30 p.m.
