La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team fell 2-1 to MSOE (Wis.) Sunday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. The Eagles drop to 6-2-1 on the season while the Raiders improve to 8-2. UWL saw its four-game winning streak snapped while MSOE (Wis.) earned its eighth straight victory.
MSOE (Wis.) took a 1-0 lead at 3:31 on Grace Quinn's unassisted goal. The Raiders maintained their 1-0 lead at halftime, outshooting the Eagles, 10-5 in the first 45:00. Each team had four corner kicks in the first half.
Sophia Anger recorded two saves Sunday.
UWL tied the game at 46:56 on
Ainsley Allan's unassisted goal. MSOE (Wis.) regained a 2-1 lead at 53:03 on Quinn's second goal of the game, assisted by Molly Pekala.
UWL finished with 12 shots in the second half to MSOE's (Wis.) four. The Eagles had all five second half corner kicks.
The Eagles totaled 17 shots overall with five on goal.
Katie Feller and
Ellie Behnke each had four shots with Feller recording one on goal and Behnke three. Allan finished with three shots, including one on goal.
MSOE (Wis.) finished with 15 shots, including four on goal. Quinn had three shots with two on goal while Caitie LeVasseur finished with three shots with one on goal. Nikki Ratts and Jill Ruark each had two shots in the game.
Sophia Anger recorded two saves for UWL. Reagan Tomkins had three saves in 45:00 for MSOE (Wis.) while Megan Lacina finished with one save in 45:00.
UWL returns to action Wednesday, September 29 opening Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) play at UW-River Falls at 3 p.m.
