Greensboro, N.C. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team is tied for fifth after the second day of action Friday at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championships at Irwin Belk Track at North Carolina A&T State University. The Eagles have 12.0 team points.
UW-Eau Claire leads with 39.0 team points while Carleton College (Minn.) is second with 18.0 and UW-Oshkosh third with 16.0. Wartburg College (Iowa) is fourth (13.0) with UWL and University of Mount Union (Ohio) tied for fifth (12.0).

Rowan University (N.J.) and Whitworth University (Wash.) are tied for seventh (11.0) with Brockport State University (N.Y.), Carroll University (Wis.), Johns Hopkins University (Md.), St. John Fisher College (N.Y.) and UW-Stout tied for ninth (10.0).
A total of 45 teams have scored points.
UWL's
Evan Daley earned his first career NCAA Division III All-America honor on Friday as he placed fifth (6-7 1/2) in the high jump. He is the first student-athlete since Brendan Deiss placed fifth in 2017 to earn an All-America award for UWL in the high jump.
In preliminary action on the track Friday, the Eagles'
Josh Koenecke and
Seth Holden (10.66) both advanced to Saturday's 100-meter dash final while
Caden Pearce (47.95) qualified for the 400-meter dash championship.
UWL's
Dillon Murman and
Jake Sullivan both failed to advance to Saturday's running finals in the 110-meter hurdles and 400-meter dash. Murman ran 14.93 in the 110-meter hurdles while Sullivan finished with a preliminary time of 48.07 in the 400-meter dash.
UWL has won an NCAA Division III record 15 outdoor titles in school history. The Eagles have won outdoor national championships in 1988, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1997, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017. UWL also has an NCAA Division III record 18 indoor titles, sweeping the indoor and outdoor titles on 12 occasions (1988, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1997, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2013, 2017).
The Eagles have recorded 30 top-10 finishes, including 27 in the top-four, at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships.
