La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field hosted the UW-La Crosse National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Final Qualifier Wednesday night at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. No team scores were recorded.
UWL recorded one individual title and two relay titles in day one of the two-day meet before the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships scheduled for May 27-29 in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Eagles'
Samuel Sadowski won the long jump (23-11 1/2) title while
Seth Holden,
Troy DeBruin,
Spencer Reichart and
Josh Koenecke captured the 4x100-meter relay (40.50) and
Payton Flood,
Caden Pearce,
Addison Hill and
Jake Sullivan won the 4x400-meter relay (3:12.26).
Samuel Sadowski
UWL's
Ethan Gregg finished second (14:34.45),
Alex Strojny eighth (15:36.67) and
Zach Slevin 11th (15:44.84) in the 5,000-meter.
Other top finishers in the field events included
Andrew Hermes second (23-1 1/2) in the long jump and
Nick Crary fifth (45-0 1/2) in the triple jump. In the high jump,
Evan Daley placed second (6-9) and
Matt Haynes eighth (6-3 1/4).
Logan Larson and
Tommy Knoche both tied for seventh (15-5 1/2) in the pole vault. In the discus throw,
Michael Lampman was fourth (157-7) and
Bryce Sitko sixth (154-6) while
Daniel Graf finished fifth (50-7 1/2) in the shot put.
UWL returns to action Thursday, May 20 in day two of the UW-La Crosse NCAA Final Qualifier starting at 4 p.m.
