La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse lacrosse team fell 20-6 in its home finale to UW-River Falls Friday night at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. The Eagles drop to 4-6 on the season while the Falcons improve to 7-2.
UW-River Falls scored the first two goals to start the game but a free position goal from
Liz Kolodziej would bring the Eagles within one at 23:37. The Falcons scored the next three goals until
Valerie Johnson score her first of the game at 20:32. Johnson would find the back of the net again with the help from
Anna Davis to cut the Eagles deficit by four making it a 7-3 game with 16:23 remaining in the first half. UW-River Falls went on a seven-goal run heading into halftime for a 14-3 lead.

Britta Nelson found the back of the net at 18:10. UW-River Falls extend its lead to 18-5 as Emily Herdine scored from a Josie Johnson assist. After a Falcons' turnover,
Abigail Steigauf scored on a fast break for the Eagles' final goal of the game at 6:40.
UWL finished with 19 shots, including 13 on goal, while collecting 10 ground balls. Johnson led the Eagles with two goals and five shots. Nelson had a team-high five draw controls while Schwartz and Steigauf both added three.
Savannah Allen collected two ground balls and one draw control.

Abi Furlano suffered the loss in goal, recording a career-high 13 saves while getting a team-high three ground balls.
UW-River Falls finished with 44 shots, including 33 on goal, while collecting 17 ground balls. Herdine led the Falcons with six goals and two assists while Gina Jablonski won five draw controls. Ashley Olson earned the win in with seven saves.
UWL returns to action Saturday, April 24 in the regular-season finale at UW-Eau Claire at 1 p.m.
