La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's track & field team captured the Ashton May-Phil Esten Meet Saturday night at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. The Eagles totaled 187.50 team points while UW-Eau Claire was second with 152.5 points, UW-Oshkosh third with 148.0 and UW-Stout fourth with 119.0.
UWL recorded four individual first-place finishes in Saturday's track events.
Josh Koenecke won the 100-meter dash (10.57) while
Caden Pearce took the 400-meter dash (48.50) and
Dillon Murman the 110-meter hurdles (14.73).
The 4x100-meter relay of
Seth Holden,
Troy DeBruin,
Spencer Reichart and Koenecke placed first (40.49) for UWL.
Other top finishers on the track included DeBruin placing fifth (10.77) in the 100-meter dash while Koenecke was second (22.01) and Reichart third (22.18) in the 200-meter dash.
Jake Sullivan was second in the 400-meter dash (48.77) while
Brian Hansford finished second in the 800-meter run (1:54.96) for the Eagles.
UWL's
Carson Reilly placed second (14.90) in the 110-meter hurdles while
Andrew Pischke was third (57.08) in the 400-meter hurdles.
Carter Hahn,
Tyler Harris,
Justin Kotarak and
Samuel Sadowski took second in the 4x100-meter relay (42.37) for UWL.
The Eagles'
Ben Jones finished fourth in the decathlon with 6,170 points. Jones was second in the 100-meter dash (11.40) and 110-meter hurdles (15.42) while placing fifth in the long jump (21-2 1/2).
UWL returns to action Friday April 23 at UW-Whitewater.
