Colfax, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's cross country placed second at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III North Regional Saturday afternoon at Whitetail Golf Course. The Eagles finished with 59 team points while UW-Whitewater took the regional title with 58.
By virtue of its first and second-place finishes, UW-Whitewater and UWL advance to the NCAA Division III Championships scheduled for Saturday, November 20 in Louisville, Kentucky.Â

UW-Oshkosh finished third (124 points) in Saturday's NCAA III Regional while UW-Eau Claire was fourth (139), St. Olaf College, Minn. fifth (167), UW-Stout sixth (197), Carleton College, Minn. seventh (198), Gustavus Adolphus College, Minn. eighth (219), St. John's University, Minn. ninth (220) and Concordia College-Moorhead, Minn. 10th (314). A total of 29 teams competed.Â
UWL's
Ethan Gregg placed third overall with a time of 24:40.39 on the 8,000-meter course while
Parker Huhn finished seventh (24:50.31) and
Isaac Wegner eighth (24:51.65).
The Eagles'
Chad Franz finished 13th (24:56.85) with
Ethan Thompson 28th (25:05.51),
Corey Fairchild 30th (25:08.62),
Elias Ritzke 46th (25:42.44).
David Fassbender of UW-Whitewater won the individual title (24:34.05). A total of 219 runners finished the race.Â
