La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team earned its fifth shutout victory of the season Saturday night with a 3-0 win over UW-Eau Claire at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex. The Eagles improve to 10-2-1 overall and 3-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while the Blugolds drop to 5-6-2 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
It is UWL's eighth win in its last nine games overall, including second straight shutout. UWL earned a 2-0 win over Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) Wednesday night. The Eagles have won their last four games overall and improved to 5-1-1 at home this season.

The Eagles got on the board on
Ainsley Allan's goal at 42:13 to make it 1-0 with an assist from
Alexis McMahon. UWL led, 1-0, at halftime while outshooting UW-Eau Claire, 16-8.
UWL took a 2-0 lead at 48:54 on
Sophie Amundson's first of two goals.
Chelsea Gale recorded the assist. Amundson made it 3-0 with a penalty kick goal at 51:56.
UWL finished with 23 shots Saturday night with 12 on goal. Amundson had five shots, including four on goal. Allan totaled four shots with three on goal. Gale,

Hayley Slaski each had a shot on goal.
UW-Eau Claire was held to 11 shots, including two on goal. Maddie Ames and Kori Millis each had a shot on goal.
The Eagles had all five corner kicks in the game.
Quinn Shannon earned the shutout victory, finishing with two saves. Anna Sveiven recorded nine saves for the Blugolds.
UWL returns to action Wednesday, October 13 at Wheaton College (Ill.) at 4:30 p.m.
