UWL Defeats IIT; Falls to Concordia Wisconsin

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Mequon, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team split a pair of non-conference matches Friday night at R. John Buuck Fieldhouse at Concordia University Wisconsin. The Eagles earned a 3-1 (25-10, 25-16, 23-25, 25-12) win over Illinois Institute of Technology before a 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 26-24) loss to host Concordia Wisconsin. 

UWL, receiving votes on this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association Top-25 Poll, is now 19-9 on the season. 

Emma Lawrence led UWL with 18 kills in the victory over IIT, hitting .277 (18-5-47) overall. Brianne Korducki and Anna Rossner each finished with 11 kills with Korducki hitting .260 (11-2-25) and Rossner .474 (11-2-19).  Megan Adams recorded 29 assists and Jackie Oetterer 24 as the Eagles hit .292 (61-19-144). 

Sophie Quelle led four players in double figures in digs, finishing with 23. Lawrence and Adams both recorded double-doubles as Lawrence finished with 13 digs to go with her 18 kills while Adams had 11 digs with her 29 assists. Sydney Fedderly finished with 10 digs. 

UWL had 11.0 team blocks with Liz Lansink finishing with six block assists and Rossner five. 

Briar Moore led IIT (16-9) with six kills while Ellie Leach had 14 assists. IIT hit -.007 (26-27-139) for the match. Stephanie Nguyen had 12 digs. 

Lawrence led UWL with 14 kills against Concordia Wisconsin while Korducki finished with six. Rossner and Gabrialla Johnson each had five. Adams finished with 14 assists and Oetterer 11 with UWL hitting .108 (34-21-120). 

Oetterer had a team-leading 15 digs with Quelle finishing with 12. 

Concordia Wisconsin (20-3), also receiving votes on the AVCA Top-25 Poll, was led by Jenna Chauseee with eight kills. Lauren Shroba, Mckenna Nigl and Maycee Karpfinger each had seven. Makenzie Vertz finished with 17 assists and Sierra Lee 13 as the Falcons hit .246 (38-10-1140.  Madelyn Alton had a match-high 20 digs.

UWL returns to action Friday, October 29 at UW-Stevens Point at 7 p.m.
