UWL Drops Road Game at Earlham (Ind.)

Richmond, Ind.-The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's lacrosse team fell to EarlhamCollege (Ind.) 18-8 Saturday afternoon at Darrell BeaneStadium. The Eagles drop to 0-3 on the season while the Quakers improve to 4-1.

Earlham (Ind.) would get on the board first at 28:40 after Serena Pisacano assisted Claudette Roskamp but a free position goal from Valerie Johnson would tie the game at one a piece at 27:47. The game would be tied again at 24:31 after Anna Davis found the back of the net. The Quakers would go on a four goal run until Davis scored again at 17:09 to bring the Eagles within three. 

UWL's Ashley Hoffmann would assist Savannah Allen for her first of the season with 8:55 remaining in the first while Earlham (Ind.) found the back of the net four more times, leading at halftime 10-4. 

The Eagles went 10-for-15 on clear attempts, also adding 14 ground balls and seven shots on goal in the first half while Earlham (Ind.) was nine-for-14 on clear attempts adding 13 ground balls and 15 shots on goal. 

Mackenzie Chvatal scored her first career goal unassisted for UWL less than two-minutes into the second half but Earlham (Ind.) would score the next three. Hoffmann would begin to cut down the Quakers lead after she rolled the crease and scored with 17:39 left in the game and minutes later Mackenzie McCoy scored on a free position to bring the Eagles within seven. Earlham (Ind.) would score three more times before the game ended while Davis would score one more time for UWL. 

Ellen Coggio played the full 60-minutes in goal making nine saves and getting two ground balls. 

Davis led the Eagles with three goals with five other players adding one goal each, Davis also ended the day with two ground balls and a draw control. Kloee Brabender had a team high six ground balls while Samantha Sonstegard had four, both adding two caused turnovers. 

Jordan Blackburne earned the win in goal for the Quakers making nine saves while also adding three ground balls. Rosskamp scored six goals while winning a game high 16 draw controls. Krista Kirk had four goals and assist for Earlham (Ind,). 

UWL returns to action Sunday, March, 8 at Anderson University (Ind.) at 9 a.m.
