La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics squad earned a 190.375 to 173.075 dual victory over Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) Friday night in Mitchell Hall. The Eagles finished with a 48.000 on the vault, 47.525 on the uneven parallel bars, 47.650 on the balance beam and 47.200 on the floor exercise.
UWL set a season-highs in overall (190.375), vault (48.000) and uneven parallel bars (47.525). The Eagles' score of 48.000 on the vault is tied for 10th-highest in school history while the total of 47.525 on the uneven parallel bars is tied for 14th.
UWL won all four individual event titles on Friday, taking the top-six places in three events.
Jessica Ahrens captured a pair of titles, winning the vault (9.650) and balance beam (9.675).
Kerrie Legault won the uneven parallel bars (9.750 and
Emma Grant the floor exercise (9.650).
Along with Ahrens winning on the vault, Grant and
Audrey Kaufman tied for second (9.600) while
Madi Vanderpool and
Megan Hawkins tied for fourth (9.575) and
Alex Wood finished sixth (9.450).
Vanderpool,
Kacey Mortenson and
Brittany Gutzkow tied for second (9.450) on the uneven parallel bars with
Brooke Kachinsky fifth (9.425) and
Cate Sandvik sixth (9.325).
On the balance beam, Mortenson and
Olivia Opheim tied for second (9.575) while Grant was fourth (9.475),
Faith Sersland fifth (9.350) and Kaufman sixth (9.250).
Opheim was also second (9.475) on the floor exercise Friday night while Sersland finished third (9.375). Kaufman and
Jenna Danninger tied for fourth (9.350) while Gutzkow placed eighth (9.200).
Brooke Merila of Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) won the all-around title (36.650).
UWL returns to action Saturday, February 29 at UW-Whitewater at 4 p.m.
