La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics team earned a 187.550 to 181.950 dual victory over Winona State University (Minn.) Sunday afternoon in Mitchell Hall. The Eagles recorded scores of 47.000 on the vault, 47.175 on the uneven parallel bars, 46.200 on the balance beam and 47.175 on the floor exercise.
UWL swept all four individual events on Sunday. Jessica Ahrens and Megan Hawkins tied for first on the vault (9.475) while Ahrens also won the balance beam (9.650). Madi Vanderpool captured the uneven parallel bars (9.625) and Emma Grant took the floor exercise (9.600).
Emma Grant won the floor exercise (9.600) title Sunday.
The Eagles finished with five of the top-six finishers on the vault. Audrey Kaufman was third (9.425) with Vanderpool fourth (9.350) and Alex Wood tied for sixth (9.275).
UWL had the top-four finishers on the uneven parallel bars. Along with Vanderpool's first-place showing, Brooke Kachinsky was second (9.550), Brittany Gutzkow third (9.475) and Molly Lyngaas fourth (9.400).
On the balance beam, Kaufman finished second (9.375), Faith Sersland third (9.325) and Grant sixth (9.000).
Sersland was second (9.475), Gutzkow third (9.425) and Jenna Danninger fourth (9.400) on the floor exercise as UWL had the top-four finishers.
UWL returns to action Friday, February 21 hosting Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) at 6:30 p.m. in Mitchell Hall.
