La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team earned a 136-86 dual victory over UW-Oshkosh Saturday afternoon in Richard L. Pein Natatorium. The Eagles won 10 of the 13 events.
UWL's Sergio Solis, Adam Baryenbruch, Kyle Kleiner and AJ Von Berge took first in the 200 medley relay (1:38.33) while Jack Rohlinger, Hans Hover, Marley Kaiser and Solis took the 200 freestyle relay (1:26.88).Â
Andrew Groth won two individual titles for the Eagles, including the 200 butterfly (1:58.77) and 200 freestyle (1:50.49). Kipp Dietrich was second in the 200 freestyle (1:51.68).
Hover placed first in the 200 I.M. (1:54.41) Saturday while Kaiser was second (2:02.56). Hover set a facility record in winning the 200 I.M., breaking the record of 1:56.49 set by UWL's David Flickinger in 2014. Hover also set a pool record in the 100 butterfly (:49.59) in an exhibition race against UW-Oshkosh Saturday, breaking the record of :50.60 set by Adam Effinger of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Ind.) in 2005.
Baryenbruch won the 200 breaststroke (2:08.58) while Brevin Kruse took the 200 backstroke (2:03.06). In the 100 freestyle, Rohlinger was first (47.99) with Kaiser second (48.90). Rohlinger also finished second in the 1,000 freestyle (10:20.98).Â
UWL had the top-three finishers in the 50 and 500 freestyle. Ben Hendel finished second (23.47) while Joah Strauss was third (23.69) in the 50 freestyle while Kleiner placed second (5:08.37) in the 500 freestyle and Trevor Andersen third (5:10.19).Â
Cameron Pumilia swept the one (144.75 points) and three-meter (135.20) diving titles.Â
