La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team dropped its 2019 home opener Tuesday night with a 2-1 loss to Concordia University Wisconsin. The Eagles fall to 1-2 on the season while the Falcons improve to 2-0. It is Concordia Wisconsin's first-ever win over UWL. The Eagles now lead the all-time series, 3-1.
UWL was 27-3-4 at home in the last three seasons entering the game.

The Eagles, ranked 17th on the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Top-25 Preseason Poll, took a 1-0 lead at 39:28 with

Camryn Hart recorded her first collegiate assist on a corner kick. UWL maintained its 1-0 lead at halftime, finishing with 13 shots in the first half while holding Concordia Wisconsin to six.
The Falcons tied the game at 71:08 on Allison McElwee's first goal of the season. She then gave Concordia Wisconsin a 2-1 advantage at 81:18. Both of her goals were unassisted. UWL had four shots in the final 9:00 of the game, but could not manage to score.
Quinn Shannon recorded six saves Tuesday.
Quinn Shannon (0-1) took the loss for UWL, finishing with six saves. Kaeley Sterkel (2-0) picked up the win for Concordia Wisconsin, registering eight saves.
UWL totaled 22 shots in the game, including nine on goal.
Ainsley Allan had four shots (one on goal) while
Kaitlyn Villars (one on goal) and
Julia Smith (two) each had three shots. Concordia Wisconsin finished with 10 shots with eight on goal. Alexandra Tomich finished with four shots (two on goal) while McElwee and Selena Esten each had two shots (both on goal).
UWL returns to action Friday, September 6 facing Franklin College (Ind.) at 7 p.m. in Bloomington, Illinois.
