Waverly, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team fell 3-1 (25-18, 25-19, 26-28, 25-18) at Wartburg College (Iowa) Tuesday night. The Eagles drop to 3-4 on the year while the Knights improve to 5-3.
Emma Lawrence led UWL with 18 kills while Abbey Fox finished with nine and Anna Rossner seven. Abbey Fox recorded 29 assists as the Eagles hit .113 (47-25-195) overall.
Courtney Conway led four players in double figures in digs with 27. Sophie Quelle finished with 20. Lawrence and Fox each recorded double-doubles with Lawrence totaling 20 digs and Fox 14. UWL totaled 5.0 blocks.
Kylie Bildstein led three Wartburg (Iowa) players in double figures in kills with 12. She hit .345 (12-2-29) overall. Jayme Willemssen finished with 11 kills and Zaiah Quirk with 10. Claire Marsh totaled 23 assists with Sydney Rottinghaus finished with 16. The Knights hit .175 (54-19-200).
Katie Foster led Wartburg (Iowa) with 37 digs. Rottinghaus finished with 16, Quirk with 14 and Natalie Clayberg with 10. The Knights had 9.0 team blocks.
UWL returns to action Saturday, September 14 in Dubuque, Iowa facing Augsburg University (Minn.) at noon and Loras College (Iowa) at 2 p.m.
