Box Score Ithaca, N.Y. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team opened its 2019 season with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-11, 25-22) win over Ohio Wesleyan University Friday night at the Ithaca College (N.Y.) Bomber Invitational.  Ohio Wesleyan drops to 0-2 on the season. 

UWL trailed 12-10 in the opening set when it used an 8-0 run to lead 18-12. Ohio Wesleyan could get no closer than five points the rest of the set. The Eagles trailed 2-1 in the second set on Friday, but went on a 12-3 run to lead 13-5. The Bishops could get no closer than six points the rest of the way.  

The third and final set was tied eight times, including 18-18. Ohio Wesleyan scored the next two points for a 20-18 advantage when UWL answered with the next two points for a 20-20 tie. A hitting error from Ohio Wesleyan and pair of kills from UWL's Brianne Korducki gave the Eagles a three-point lead at 23-20. Korducki later finished the match with a kill for the final point of the set. 

Emma Lawrence led UWL with nine kills while Korducki finished with eight. The Eagles hit .193 (33-16-88) overall. Abbey Fox led UWL win 17 assists and 13 digs. The team finished with 6.0 team blocks as Liz Lansink and Anna Rossner each had three block assists. 

Ohio Wesleyan hit -.087 (16-24-92) for the match. 

UWL returns to action Saturday, August 31 with a pair of matches in the Ithaca (N.Y.) Bomber Invitational. The Eagles face Berry College (Ga.) at 10 a.m. and host Ithaca (N.Y.) at 3 p.m.
