La Crosse, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics team finished its home portion of the 2019 schedule with a 187.125-186.925 victory over the UW-Stout Friday night at Mitchell Hall.
Sam Weyker placed second in the vault.
UW-Stout entered the dual ranked third in the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) while UWL was fourth.
The Eagles set a season-high on the balance beam (47.625) while scoring 46.875 on the vault, 46.125 on the uneven parallel bars and 46.500 in the floor exercise Friday night.
UWL won two individual event titles. The Eagles'
Breghan Kiloran took the uneven parallel bars (9.525) and
Jessica Ahrens the balance beam (9.650).
Other top-six finishers for the Eagles included
Sam Weyker placing second on the vault (9.500), third in the floor exercise (9.375) and fourth on the balance beam (9.6250).
Megan Hawkins finished fourth in the vault (9.450) while
Brooke Kachinsky finished second on the uneven parallel bars (9.475).
Ally Blixt finished fifth in the vault (9.350) and
Ellie Beckman was sixth on the uneven parallel bars.
Brittany Gutzkow and
Emma Grant finished back-to-back at fourth (9.35) and fifth (9.325) in the floor exercise.
Brittany Gutzkow placed fourth in floor exercise.
UW-Stout's Shadae Boone won the vault (9.600) Friday while teammate Mikala Bugge took the floor exercise (9.525). Bugge was the only competitor in the all-around Friday night (37.900).
UWL returns to action Friday, March 1 when it competes at Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) at 6:30 p.m.
