Stevens Point, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's basketball team earned a 75-53 victory at UW-Stevens Point Thursday night in Berg Gymnasium. The Eagles, receiving votes on this week's D3hoops.com Top-25 Poll, improve to 17-3 overall and 6-3 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). The Pointers drop to 7-13 overall and 3-6 in the WIAC.
It is UWL's first regular-season sweep of UW-Stevens Point since 2014-15. The Eagles earned a 55-46 victory over the Pointers on January 16 in La Crosse.
UW-Stevens Point scored the first points of the game on Carly Cerrato's three-pointer and later led, 6-5 on Amber Baehman's three-point field goal with 6:26 remaining in the first quarter. UWL took a 7-6 lead with 6:00 left on

UWL started the second quarter on a 14-0 run to lead 33-14 with 3:22 remaining on a pair of
Kendra Leis free throws. The Eagles led, 38-20, at halftime as they outscored the Pointers, 19-6 in the quarter.
UW-Stevens Point cut the lead to 45-31 with 3:20 remaining in the third quarter when UWL went on a 8-1 run to lead 53-32. The Pointers could get no closer than 19 points the rest of the way as the Eagles led by as many as 25 in the fourth quarter.
UWL shot a season-high 55.6% (30-of-54) from the field Thursday, including 45.5% (five-of-11) from three-point range. The Eagles shot 76.9% (10-of-13) at the free throw line.
Emma Gamoke led UWL with 19 points, seven rebounds and four steals while Craig finished with 16 points and team-high three assists.
Delaney Schoenenberger added 11 points, going five-of-five from the field.
UW-Stevens Point shot 30.8% from the field, including 20.0 (three-of-15) from three-point range, and 64.3% (18-of-28) at the line. Bailee Collins led the Pointers with 12 points while Kellan Schmidt finished with eight points and team-high seven rebounds. Baehman added nine points.
UWL returns to action Saturday, February 2 at UW-Platteville at 3 p.m.
