Denton, Texas - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics team placed fourth at the Texas Woman's University Quadrangular Sunday afternoon in Kitty Magee Arena. The Eagles totaled a team score of 187.350 while Texas Woman's University took the team title at 194.300. Centenary College (La.) and UW-Stout tied for second at 189.950.
UWL finished with a team score of 47.525 on the vault, 45.975 on the uneven parallel bars, 47.175 on the balance beam and 46.675 on the floor exercise. The Eagles set season-highs in overall score (187.350), vault (47.525), balance beam (47.175) and floor exercise (46.675).
The Eagles recorded nine finishes in the top-10 on Sunday, including four on the vault.
Megan Hawkins placed sixth (9.625) while
Savannah Farrell tied for seventh (9.600).
Kacey Mortenson and
Sam Weyker tied for 10th (9.550).
Brooke Kachinsky tied for seventh on the uneven parallel bars (9.700) with
Ellie Beckman ninth (9.625).
On the balance beam,
Jessica Ahrens tied for ninth (9.650).
Emma Grant tied for eighth on the floor exercise (9.625) while Weyker tied for 10th (9.600).
UWL returns to action Friday, February 1 hosting the U.S. Air Force Academy and UW-Whitewater at 6:30 p.m.
