La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics team opened its 2019 home schedule with a dual victory over Hamline University (Minn.) Friday night in Mitchell Hall. The Eagles finished with a team score of 186.700 while the Pipers totaled 180.850. Â
UWL recorded 46.075 on the vault, 47.100 on the uneven parallel bars, 46.975 on the balance beam and 46.550 on the floor exercise. Â

Megan Hawkins, Dani Barmore, Ally Blixt, Emma Grant
The Eagles swept the five individual titles Friday with
Kacey Mortenson winning the all-around (36.500). She also tied for second on the vault (9.275) and fourth on the uneven parallel bars (9.225).Â
UWL's
Megan Hawkins captured the vault (9.400);
Dani Barmore the uneven parallel bars (9.675),
Ally Blixt the balance beam (9.625) and
Emma Grant the floor exercise (9.625).Â
Other top-six finishers included
Sam Weyker placing second on the floor exercise (9.525) and fourth on the vault (9.250).Â
Brooke Kachinsky was second (9.625) on the uneven parallel bars while
Ellie Beckman finished third (9.350) and
Savannah Farrell tied for fourth (9.225).Â
On the balance beam,
Jessica Ahrens was third (9.450) while
Olivia Opheim and
Ally Brugler tied for fourth (9.425). The Eagles'
Brittany Gutzkow was sixth (9.200) on the floor exercise.Â
UWL returns to action Sunday, January 27 in the Texas Woman's University Quadrangular at 2 p.m. Along with UWL and Texas Woman's University, the quadrangular includes UW-Stout and Centenary University (La.).Â
