La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team earned a 3-1 (25-22, 25-19, 21-25, 25-23) victrory Wednesday night in Mitchell Hall. The Eagles, playing their final regular-season home game of the year, improve to 15-10 overall while the Cardinals drop to 12-11.
Marisa Johnson, the lone senior for UWL, led the Eagles with a career-high 23 kills Wednesday night while hitting .373 (23-4-51). She tied her career-high with 29 digs. Â
Liz Lansink finished with 14 kills for UWL while
Emma Lawrence and
Kathryn Maas each finished with 10.Â
Abbey Fox recorded 53 assists as the Eagles hit .250 (63-21-168).Â
Along with Johnson's 29 digs,
Julia Van Fleet finished with 21 and
Sophie Quelle 10.  UWL had 4.0 team blocks.
Gloria Kitange led Saint Mary's (Minn.) with 16 kills while Brandi Blattner finished with 15. Lillian Braun had 38 assists as the Cardinals hit .136 (45-23-162). Â DeJaye Baab had 22 digs while Braun finished with 16 and Hayley Weber with 13.
UWL returns to action Wednesday, October 24 at 20th-ranked UW-Whitewater at 7 p.m.
