Whitewater, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-20, 25-12, 25-15) at 18th-ranked UW-Whitewater Wednesday night in Russell Arena. The Eagles drop to 15-11 overall and 3-3 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while the Warhawks improve to 22-5 overall and 6-0 in the conference. UW-Whitewater is ranked 18th in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top-25 Poll.
The first set was tied 9-9 when the Warhawks used a 4-2 run to lead 13-11. UWL cut the lead to 17-16 when UW-Whitewater scored three straight points to lead 20-16. UWL could get no closer than three points the rest of the set.
UW-Whitewater never trailed in the second set. The Warhawks led 9-8 when they went on a 11-1 run to lead 20-9.
The third set was tied, 8-8, when UW-Whitewater scored four consecutive points to lead 12-8. UWL cut the lead to 12-9, but could get no closer with UW-Whitewater going on a 6-1 run to lead 18-10.

Kathryn Maas led UWL with seven kills while
Marisa Johnson finished with six.
Abbey Fox recorded 22 assists as the Eagles hit .084 (27-19-95) overall.Â
Julia Van Fleet had a match-high 13 digs. UWL finished with 4.0 team blocks.
Erin McNeil led UW-Whitewater with 11 kills with Amanda Spera and Rachel Butterfield each finishing with nine. KellyAnn Sotiros had 19 assists as the Warhawks hit .323 (45-13-99). Brittany Robinson recorded 12 digs and McNeil had 11.
UWL returns to action Friday, October 26 at UW-Stevens Point at 7 p.m.
