Box Score 2 Naperville, Ill. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team improved to 10-4 on the season with a pair of wins Saturday in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin/Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Crossover at North Central College (Ill.). The Eagles earned a 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-23) victory over host North Central (Ill.) before a 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-21) win over Wheaton College (Ill.).
UWL, receiving votes on this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top-25 Poll, earned a 3-1 (25-20, 22-25, 25-15, 25-21) win over Elmhurst College (Ill.) Friday night.
The Eagles extended their winning streak to four with Saturday's victories. UWL opening the week with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-17) victory at UW-Oshkosh September 20 to start WIAC play.
In the win over North Central (Ill.),
Marisa Johnson led UWL with 13 kills while hitting .273 (13-4-33). Laine Hoeffel finished with 10 kills and hit .381 (10-2-21).
Stephanie Henk finished with nine kills.
Madison Entinger recorded 41 assists as the Eagles hit .261 (45-14-119). UWL hit .556 (16-1-27) in the opening set.
Halle Barnabo and
Paige Schmidt each finished with 10 digs while Henk and Entinger had nine.
Versus Wheaton (Ill.), Henk led UWL with nine kills while
Marisa Johnson,
Jessica Jablonski and
Kathryn Maas each finished with eight. Entinger had 31 assists as UWL hit .228 (42-21-92).
Barnabo had a team-leading nine digs with Henk and Rachel Bethel each finishing with six.
UWL returns to action Wednesday, September 27 at UW-River Falls at 7 p.m.
