Box Score 2 Oshkosh, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team split a pair of matches at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational Saturday afternoon in Kolf Sports Center. The Eagles opened with a 3-2 (25-27, 19-25, 25-21, 25-13, 15-8) win over Carthage College (Wis.) before falling 3-2 (25-18, 23-25, 19-25, 25-19, 11-15) to 18th-ranked Elmhurst College (Ill.). UWL, tied for 19th in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top-25 Poll, is now 15-3 on the season.
In its win over Carthage (Wis.),
Stephanie Henk led UWL with 18 kills with
Ashley Entinger finishing with 15 and
Marisa Johnson 10. Entinger hit .522 (15 kills, three errors, 23 attempts) while Johnson hit .304 (10-3-23).
Madison Entinger recorded 49 assists as the Eagles hit .243 overall. UWL hit .355 (13-2-31) in the fourth set.
Halle Barnabo led UWL with 31 digs while
Paige Schmidt finished with 12 and
Madison Entinger 11. The Eagles had 9.0 team blocks with
Jill Entinger recording five block assists.
Henk led UWL with 21 kills in the loss to Elmhurst (Ill.), hitting .447 (21-4-38). Johnson recorded 15 kills and
Jessica Jablonski eight.
Madison Entinger led the Eagles with 52 assists as the team hit .242.
Barnabo had a team-leading 30 digs while Schmidt finished with 18 and Henk 15. UWL had 7.0 team blcoks with Johnson recording three block solos.
Henk and
Madison Entinger were named to the 12-member all-tournament team.
UWL returns to action Wednesday, October 5 hosting 23rd-ranked UW-Oshkosh at 7 p.m.
