Menomonie, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics squad earned a 186.975 to 183.400 victory over UW-Stout Friday night in Johnson Fieldhouse in the season opener for both teams.

The Eagles scored 47.625 on the vault; 45.375 on the uneven parallel bars; 47.500 on the balance beam and 46.475 on the floor exercise.
UW-L captured individual titles in three of the four events.Â
Dani Barmore won the vault in her first collegiate meet with a score of 9.675.Â
Kari Willett finished first on the beam (9.700) while
Savana Kettner scored a career-high on floor (9.550) to take the title.

In the all-around, Barmore finished second overall (37.650) after placing tied for second on floor (9.400), third on beam (9.575), and tied for fifth on bars (9.000) in addition to her title on vault.Â
Samantha Wiekamp was fourth in the all-around (35.950), including a third place finish on vault (9.625) and a tie for sixth on beam (9.425). Â

On the bars,
Monique Muehlethaler finished second (9.275),
Janelle Kopa was third (9.250), and
Amy Enright was fourth (9.200).Â

Other top finishers for the Eagles included fourth place finishes for
Sheree Romesburg on floor (9.225) and Kettner on beam (9.550).Â
Leah Spankowski took fifth on floor (9.175) and sixth on vault (9.475).Â
