Box Score 4 Winona, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team won three of four matches at the Saint Mary's University (Minn.) Sugarloaf Classic Friday-Saturday, September 4-5 in Gostomski Fieldhouse. The Eagles, now 4-1 on the season, opened the seven-team classic Friday with a 3-1 (16-25, 25-16, 32-30, 25-21) loss to host Saint Mary's (Minn.) before coming back to earn a 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-22) victory over St. Norbert College (Wis.). UWL swept both of its matches Saturday, defeating Wisconsin Lutheran College 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-15) and Lakeland College (Wis.) 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-15)
.The Eagles hit .186 as a team in the four matches, averaging 12.5 kills per set.
Stephanie Henk led UWL with 45 kills in 13 sets played (3.46 average) while hitting .280 (45-10-125).
Jill Entinger recorded 36 kills (2.77 average) while hitting .346 (36-9-78).
Leah Putzier added 27 kills (2.45 average).
Jaclyn Barrette recorded 135 assists (10.38 per set) in the four matches.
Henk and Barrette were selected to the seven member all-tournament team at the end of Saturday's competition.
UWL's
Danica Johnson finished with 67 digs (5.15 average) while Barrett recorded 36 (2.77) and Henk 32 (2.46).
Jessica Jablonski led the Eagles with 18 total blocks in the classic (1.38 per set) while
Jill Entinger finished with 13 (1.00) and Henk 11 (0.85).
Henk led the team with 15 kills versus Saint Mary's (Minn.) with Putzier finishing with 13 while Barrett recorded 36 assists.
Paige Schmidt led four players in double figures in digs with 16 while Johnson and Putzier each recorded 15. Henk had 12 digs.
Against St. Norbert (Wis.),
Jill Entinger had eight kills with Henk and
Ashley Entinger each finishing with seven. Barrette had 33 assists and Johnson a team-high 20 digs.
In Saturday's win over Wisconsin Lutheran,
Jill Entinger finished with 13 kills while hitting .550 (13-2-20) as Barrette recorded 30 assists. Johnson had 18 digs while
Halle Barnabo finished with 11 and Barrette 10.
UWL hit a tournament-high .250 (42-11-124) in its victory over Lakeland (Wis.) Saturday as Henk finished with a team-high 17 kills while hitting .444 (17-1-36). Barrette recorded 36 assists with
Paige Schmidt finishing with 17 digs and Johnson with 14.
UW-L returns to action Friday, September 11 at the Augsburg College (Minn.) Invitational. The Eagles face the University of St. Thomas (Minn.) at 3 p.m. and host Augsburg College (Minn.) at 5 p.m.
