Box Score 2 La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team split a pair of matches at its own invitational Saturday afternoon. The Eagles opened with a 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 17-25, 18-25) loss to Augustana College (Ill.) before coming back to earn a 3-2 (25-22, 23-25, 29-27, 17-25, 15-12) victory over Dickinson State University (N.D.). UWL is now 16-8 on the season. The Eagles went 3-1 in the two-day invitational.
Versus Augustana (Ill.),
Leah Putzier finished with a team-high 13 kills for UWL while
Jill Entinger recorded 11.
Stephanie Henk and
Jessica Jablonski each had nine kills and
Ashley Entinger finished with eight. The Eagles hit .212 (49-20-137) as a team.
Jaclyn Barrette registered 43 assists.
Putzier led three players in double figures in digs with 11 while Henk and
Hallie Locher each finished with 10. UWL had 6.0 team blocks with Putzier recording four block assists while
Jill Entinger had one block solo and three block assists.
Against Dickinson State (N.D.), Henk led UWL with 22 kills with Putzier finishing with 21.
Jill Entinger recorded 10 kills as the Eagles hit .176 (67-34-188). Barrette recorded 57 assists.
Henk and Locher led UWL with 14 digs each while
Paige Schmidt finished with 13 and Barrette 10. The Eagles recorded 12.0 team blocks with
Jill Entinger finishing with one block solo and six block assists. Henk, Jablonski and
Ashley Entinger each had four block assists.
Jablonski was named to the five-player all-tournament team at the end of Saturday's competition. She was joined on the team by Kylie Siebert of Augustana (Ill.), Kristin Stern of Bethel University (Minn.), Nicole Ewoldt of Central College (Iowa) and Danielle Boyette of Dickinson State (N.D.).
UWL returns to action Wednesday, October 21 at UW-River Falls at 7 p.m.
