Volleyball Team Drops Non-Conference Match with Viterbo

Box Score La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-19) to city-rival Viterbo University (Wis.) Wednesday night in Mitchell Hall. The Eagles drop to 7-7 while the V-Hawks improve to 18-3.  Viterbo is ranked eighth on the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Top-25 Poll.

Leah Putzier led UW-L with 15 kills Wednesday, hitting .344 (15 kills and four errors in 32 attempts).  Jill Entinger recorded six kills while Jessica Jablonski finished with five. 

Jaclyn Barrette had 32 assists as the Eagles hit .154 overall. 

Courtney Geisler had a team-high 15 digs while Putzier finished with 10.  Entinger had five block assists while Putzier and Barrette each had one block solo and two block assists. 

Alicia Olson led Viterbo with 20 kills, hitting .280 (20 kills and six errors in 50 attempts).  Natalie Geidel recorded 13 kills while hitting .478 (13-2-23).  Viterbo earned its seventh straight win over UW-L.

Brianna Brinkman had 35 assists as the V-Hawks hit .218. 

Jennifer Krentz had 15 digs and Olson 10.  Brinkman, Geidel and Emilee Wiersma each had two block assists.

UW-L returns to action Friday, September 19 at Luther College (Iowa) at 7 p.m.
