Box Score La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team fell 3-1 (25-20, 25-22, 22-25, 25-15) to 25th-ranked UW-Oshkosh Saturday afternoon in Mitchell Hall at the UW-La Crosse Invitational. The Eagles drop to 8-11 overall while the Titans improve to 17-2. UW-Oshkosh is ranked 25th on this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Poll.
Leah Putzier led UW-L with nine kills Saturday while
Abby Scharbarth and
Sydney Bump each finished with eight.
Jill Entinger had seven kills.
Jaclyn Barrette finished with 31 assists as the Eagles hit .073.
Courtney Geisler led four players in double figures in digs with 21.
Melanie Martin recorded 15 digs while Barrette and
Danica Johnson each had 10.
Scharbarth,
Jill Entinger and
Ashley Entinger each had three block assists.
Katelyn Malcheski led UW-Oshkosh with 13 kills while Jessica Fischer and Hayley Rickmeier each had 10. Morgan Cizauskas recorded 39 assists as the Titans hit .163.
Mandy Trautmann finished with 21 digs while Rachel Smith had 18 and Cizauskas 12.
Brooke Brinkman recorded four block assists while Malcheski had three block assists and one block solo.
Barrette and Malcheski were named to the UW-La Crosse Invitational All-Tournament Team joining UW-Stout's Laura Reiter and Luther College's (Iowa) Leah Broderick.
UW-L returns to action Friday, October 10 hosting UW-Superior at 7 p.m.
