Box Score La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-10, 25-13, 25-23) to 14th-ranked UW-Stevens Point Saturday afternoon in Mitchell Hall. The Eagles drop to 8-13 overall and 1-3 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) while the Pointers improve to 18-4 overall and 3-1 in the conference. UW-Stevens Point is ranked 14th on this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Poll.
Leah Putzier led UW-L with nine kills Saturday while
Ida Steingas finished with eight.
Jaclyn Barrette recorded 19 assists as the Eagles hit .066.
Courtney Geisler finished with 12 digs for the Eagles while Barrette recorded seven and Putzier six.
Jill Entinger recorded three block assists.
Krista Loos led UW-Stevens Point with 15 kills with Emma Brunkhorst adding 12 and Tiffany Stargardt eight. Alexis Hartman finished with 34 assists as the Pointers hit. 348.
Hannah Picel recorded a team-leading 12 digs for the Pointers with Bri Piepenbrok and Marie Krengel finishing with 10. Brunkhorst had eight block assists and Hartman five.
It was the Pointers' eighth straight win over the Eagles.
UW-L returns to action Wednesday, October 15 at UW-Oshkosh at 7 p.m.
