UW-La Crosse 181.775, UW-Oshkosh 179.950
Oshkosh, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse gymnastics squad opened its 2013-14 season with a 181.775 to 179.950 dual victory at UW-Oshkosh Friday night in the Kolf Sports Center. It was also the season opener for the Titans.
UW-L scored 46.275 on the vault; 44.550 on the uneven parallel bars; 45.650 on the balance beam and 45.300 on the floor exercise.
The Eagles'
Kari Willett won a pair of individual titles Friday night, capturing the vault (9.375) and balance beam (9.600). She was also sixth on the floor exercise (9.200).
UW-L's
Ali Berry also recorded an individual crown, winning the floor exercise (9.400). Berry was fourth on the vault (9.225).
Sheree Romesburg had three top-six finishes Friday, including third on the vault (9.300) and floor exercise (9.325) while placing sixth on the balance beam (8.75).
The Eagles'
Rachel Riesterer,
Morgan Shene and
Nicole Wangler each recorded two top-six finishes. Riesterer was third on the uneven parallel bars (9.325) and balance beam (9.275); Shene placed second on the balance beam (9.500) and fourth on the uneven parallel bars (9.275) while Wangler tied for fifth on the vault (9.200) and tied for sixth on the uneven parallel bars (9.100).
UW-L returns to action Friday, January 10 hosting Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) in the Eagles' home opener. March-in is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in Mitchell Hall.
