Winona, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's cross country team captured the Saint Mary's University (Minn.) No Limit Invitational Friday night. The Eagles won the team title with 28 points while UW-Eau Claire was second with 56. Saint Mary's (Minn.) was third with 84 points while WInona State University (Minn.) placed fourth with 85 and Martin Luther College (Minn.) was fifth with 138.
Cody Artymuik was UW-L's top finisher Friday, placing second overall with a time of 27:35.82 on the 8,000-meter course. The Eagles had seven of the top-11 finishers Friday. Along with Artymuik placing second,
Sean Royer was fifth (28:09.77),
Andrew Heinritz sixth (28:13.33),
Carlton Folster seventh (28:13.54),
Michael Rosenberg eighth (28:23.66),
Damian Roers 10th (28:31.57) and
Nick Oelke 11th (28:45.16).
UW-L's
Evan Kacmarynski finished 15th (28:57.24) while
Joseph Hinz was 24th (29:50.99) and
Lane Geisness 32nd (30:49.61).
A total of 48 runners competed. Aaron Haley of Saint Mary's took the individual title (27:18.41).
