Box Score Whitewater, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team dropped its Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) opener with a 3-1 (25-22, 22-25, 25-21, 25-21) loss at 19th-ranked UW-Whitewater Wednesday night in Kris Russel Arena. The Eagles fall to 4-6 overall and 0-1 in the WIAC while the Warhawks improve to 12-3 overall and 1-0 in the conference.
Lauren Probst and
Crystal Ziegler led UW-L with 14 kills each Wednesday as Probst finished with a .333 hitting percentage (14-3-33). Ziegler hit .256 (14-3-43) for the match.
The Eagles'
Haley Molzner finished with nine kills with
Jill Entinger recording eight.
Cassie Raduka finished with 43 assists as UW-L hit .184 for the match.
Probst recorded a double-double with 14 digs while
Courtney Geisler finished with 11.
Kayla Ashland and Entinger each had five blocks with Raduka totaling four.
Alivia Holman and Staci Hasler led UW-Whitewater with 11 kills while Kristen Ruchti and Ariel Feiertrag each recorded 10. The Warhawks, ranked 19th on this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top-25 Poll, hit .172 for the match. Kim Frel had 44 assists.
Kelsey Nobillo finished with a match-high 24 digs while Jaclyn Krizka had 10. Holman had five blocks.
UW-L returns to action Friday, September 20 hosting Luther College (Iowa) in its home opener. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Mitchell Hall.
