UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational Results
Colfax, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse men's cross country squad captured the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational Friday afternoon at Whitetail Golf Course. The Eagles finished with 54 team points while St. Olaf College (Minn.) placed second with 80 points and Central College (Iowa) third with 98.
UW-Eau Claire was fourth (102) and Lakehead University (Canada) was fifth (149). Luther College, Iowa was sixth (217) followed by UW-Stout (231), Saint John's University, Minn. (238), Carleton College, Minn. (283) and the University of St. Thomas, Minn. (288) to round-out the top-10. A total of 26 teams competed.
David Stilin was UW-L's top finisher Friday, placing sixth overall with a time of 25:08.08 on the 8,000-meter course. The Eagles'
Garrett Kerska was 11th (25:13.09),
Alex Ciesielski 12th (25:14.72) and
Andrew Rohlman 13th (25:15.08).
UW-L's
Josh Dedering placed 21st (25:27.34) while
Jacob Peterson was 23rd (25:33.19) and
Tom Linner 26th (25:40.95).
Other finishers for the Eagles in the top-100 included Eric Lauria-Banta 42nd (25:55.69),
Nate Routhier 45th (26:01.12), Matt Eidenschink 65th (26:25.17),
Eric Smits 70th (26:28.71), Cody Artymiuk 72nd (26:28.96),
Andrew Heinritz 83rd (26:38.09),
Michael Rosenberg 86th (26:39.68), Alex Barbeln 95th (26:46.20) and
Damian Roers 98th (26:48.25).
A total of 453 runners competed. Aaron Easker, running unattached, placed first overall (24:44.90).
UW-L returns to action Saturday, October 19 hosting the Jim Drews Invitational. The meet will be held at Maple Grove Golf Course in West Salem beginning at 10:30 a.m.
