UW-La Crosse 80, UW-Superior 64
La Crosse, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse women's basketball team earned its 10th straight win over UW-Superior with a 80-64 win Saturday afternoon in Mitchell Hall. It is also the Eagles' 14th win in the last 15 meetings with the Yellowjackets. UW-L improves to 7-2 overall and 2-1 in the WIAC with Saturday's win while UW-Superior drops to 4-4 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
The game was tied seven times in the first half, including 26-26 with 8:30 remaining. UW-L went on a 10-0 run to lead 36-26 . The Yellowjackets later cut their deficit to 37-31, but the Eagles finished the half on a 7-2 run to lead 44-33.
UW-L led 59-43 with 13:09 left in the game before UW-Superior cut the lead to 61-52, but the Eagles used a 14-2 run to lead 75-54. The Yellowjackets could get no closer than 15 the rest of the game.
Kassie Robinson led UW-L with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Jenna Anderson scored a career-high 16 points for the Eagles with
Briana Radowicz finishing with 15 points and five rebounds.
The Eagles shot 46.6% from the field, including 60.0% (six-of-10) from three-point range, and 60.6% (20-of-33) at the line.
UW-L's 80 points is a season-high.
Sally Linzmeier led UW-Superior with 18 points while also recording 12 rebounds, four steals and two assists. Hailey Hart had 13 points and a game-high 13 rebounds while Carly Chell finished with 13 points and five rebounds.
The Yellowjackets shot 34.3% from the field, including 33.3% (five-of-15) from three-point range, and 72.2% (13-of-18) at the free throw line.
UW-L returns to action Wednesday, December 14 at St. Mary's University (Minn.) at 5:30 p.m.
