Mankato, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse volleyball team went 3-1 at the Bethany Lutheran College (Minn.) Invitational September 10-11. The Eagles are now 6-2 on the season.
UW-L defeated Bethany Lutheran 3-1 (22-25, 25-22, 25-15, 25-22) and Milwaukee School of Engineering, Wis. 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-16) September 10.
The Eagles earned a 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-8) victory over Presentation College, S.D. September 11 before falling 3-0 (25-22, 25-11, 25-7) to Coe College, Iowa.
Alexandra Bresser led UW-L with 15 kills against Bethany Lutheran while
Kayla Ashland finished with 12.
Liz Schlobohm had 45 assists and
Melannie Tate 15 digs.
Versus MSOE, Bresser had 12 kills and
Katie Gunderson 11 as UW-L hit .322 as a team. Schlobohm recorded 35 assists and Tate finished with a team-leading 22 digs.
Against Presentation, Bresser had 12 kills, Schlobohm 31 assists and Tate 13 digs. The Eagles hit .326 overall.
Gunderson had a team-high eight kills against Coe. Schlobohm had 18 assists and Tate 15 digs.
Bresser and Schlobohm were named to the all-tournament team.
UW-L returns to action Wednesday, September 15 hosting UW-Platteville at 7 p.m. to open up WIAC play.
