Cassandra Berger

Cassandra Berger starts her third season as head women's lacrosse coach in 2021-22.  She was named the Eagles' head coach on December 12, 2018. 

UWL went 5-6 in 2021, including its first home win in school history with a 13-4 victory over Augsburg University (Minn.) on March 12 at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.  The Eagles went 3-4 overall at home and 2-2 on the road in 2021. 

The Eagles finished 1-5 in 2020, their first varsity season of competition.  UWL played its first game on February 29, 2020 at Carroll University (Wis.) and first win in program history on March 8, 2020 with a 18-9 victory over Anderson University (Ind.). UWL played a pair of home games in 2020, hosting Trine University (Ind.) on March 13, 2020 and Augustana College (Ill.) on March 15, 2020.

Berger earned four letters in lacrosse at the University of Dubuque (Iowa), serving as team captain her senior season.  She earned Dubuque's (Iowa) Coaches Award and was named to the Midwest Lacrosse Conference All-Academic Team.  Berger earned her bachelor's degree with a triple major in accounting, human resource management and business administration from Dubuque (Iowa) in 2016 and earned  her master's degree in business administration.

While playing at Dubuque, Berger started in 38 games seeing action in 54. She collected 24 career goals, including 38 points and 36 draw controls. Causing 40 turnovers she also totaled 103 ground balls. She was a CCIW All-Academic recipient in all four years of attending Dubuque.

She had been an assistant women's lacrosse coach at Dubuque (Iowa) since August 2018, recruiting 12 students to campus for the 2019 season.  Berger  developed and conducted weekly strength and conditioning plans for the squad while assisting in all aspects of the program.

Berger served as a graduate assistant in the Wendt Character Center at the University of Dubuque (Iowa), supervising 60 Wendt Character Scholars and serving as the Director of Social Media.
