Jay Farmer is in his sixth season as an assistant women's golf coach at UW-La Crosse in 2024-25. He served as an assistant golf professional at Kohler Co. Whistling Straits in Sheboygan, Wisconsin from 2000-02. Farmer was the Decatur Lake Country Club General Manager and Head Golf Professional in Brodhead, Wisconsin from 1998-99.
He has also worked as the tournament coordinator at Coyote Ridge Golf Club in Peoria, Arizona (1997-98) and the assistant golf professional at Painted Mountain Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona (1996-97).
Farmer has worked at Gundersen Healthcare as the Child and Adolescent Social Worker in Outpatient Behavioral Health since 2018. He also worked at La Crosse County as a Social Worker on the Children with Special Needs Unit from 2014-16. Farmer worked work at Inclusa as a Managed Care Social Worker for the frail and elderly from 2016-18.
He earned his bachelor's degree from UWL in 2005 and his certification in social work from Upper Iowa University in 2011. Farmer earned his associate in applied business management from The Golf Academy of Arizona.
