Nicholas Gordon

Nicholas Gordon starts his third season as an assistant men's track & field coach at UW-La Crosse in 2020-21.  He also serves as an admissions counselor at UWL. 

A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Gordon earned his bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2011. He was a team captain for the Huskers' track & field team while being named the 2011 NU Male Student-Athlete of the Year.  Gordon placed 11th in the long jump at the NCAA Division I Indoor Championships and ninth at the outdoor meet.  He was second in the long jump at the 2011 Big 12 Indoor and Outdoor Championships and placed third in the long jump at the Jamaican National Championships. 

As a junior, Gordon was 14th in the long jump at the indoor national championships and eighth outdoors. He placed second in the long jump at the conference indoor and outdoor meet.

He won the long jump title at the 2009 NCAA I Indoor Championships for NU while placing third outdoors. Gordon swept the 2009 Big 12 Indoor and Outdoor titles in the long jump and finished 20th in the long jump at the World Championships in Berlin, Germany.

In his freshman season, Gordon finished third in the long jump at the conference indoor championships and second outdoors. He was 13th in the long jump at the 2008 NCAA I Outdoor Championships. 

A four-time member of the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, Gordon was named to the 2010 CoSIDA Academic All-American First Team. He earned 2011 CoSIDA Academic All-American Second Team accolades.
