John Hibshman

John Hibshman is in his fourth season as an assistant cross country coach at UW-La Crosse in 2019.  He earned his bachelor's degree in business management from Lebanon Valley College (Pa.) in 1987 and his master's degree in physical education and exercise science from Michigan State University in 1991. 

He was co-captain and MVP in cross country at Lebanon Valley (Pa.) from 1984-86 and co-captain and MPV in track & field from 1984-87. Hibshman was on the Dean's List.

A four-year varsity letter winner in cross country and three-year varsity letter winner in track & field at Annville-Cleona (Pa.) High School, Hibshman competed in seven state championships (four cross country, three track & field). He was team MVP in cross country and still holds the school record for the 1,600-meter run of 4:19 set at the 1982 state meet. 

He was inducted into the Central Pennsylvania Hall of Fame for distance running in high school, college, and post-collegiate in 2000.

Hibshman is self-employed, running the John Hibshman Personal Training Services, LLL, since September 2002.  He is a member of the National Exercise & Sports Trainer Association and American College of Sports Medicine.

He served as head cross country coach at Pewamo-Westphalia (Mich.) High School in 1990 and head track & field field coach at Annville-Cleona (Pa.) High School in 1989.  Hibshman was also the assistant cross country coach at Lebanon Valley (Pa.) in 1988.  He was the assistant distance coach for track & field and cross country at Onalaska (Wis.) High School from 2011-15.  

A native of Annville, Pennsylvania, Hibshman's wife, Donna Anderson, is an economics professor at UWL.  The couple have three children, Maddie, currently in her second year at St. Louis (Mo.) University Medical School; Matt, a senior at Washington University-St. Louis (Mo.) and Keaton, a sophomore at the University of Denver (Colo.).
