Adam Hjelter is in his third season as an assistant men's basketball coach at UW-La Crosse in 2019-20. Prior to arriving at UWL, Hjelter served as an assistant coach for Impact Basketball Academy as well D1 Minnesota AAU.Â
A native of Hutchinson, Minnesota, Hjelter was a sales associate for the Minnesota Timberwolves Basketball Academy from February-May 2017.
He earned his bachelor's degree from UW-Eau Claire in 2016 and was a member of the Blugolds' basketball team from 2013-16. Hjelter was named to the 2013-14 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Honorable Mention Team after staring all 25 games. He led UW-Eau Claire with 15.5 points per game while averaging 4.3 rebounds. Hjelter shot 89.3% (67-of-75) at the free throw line and 42.0% (71-of-196) from three-point range.
He was a member of UW-Eau Claire's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
