    Assistant Baseball Coach
Jared Manske starts his third season as an assistant baseball coach at UW-La Crosse in 2024-25.  A native of La Crosse, he graduated from Central High School in 1996 while playing baseball, football and basketball. He was a four-year letter winner in baseball and named the Big Rivers Conference Player of the Year in 1996. Manske was a third team all-state selection as a senior and all-conference choice in his junior and senior seasons. He helped lead Central to the state semifinals in 1996 and state runner-up in 1993. 

Manske earned his bachelor's degree from UWL in physical education with a coaching concentration in 2001 and his master's degree in physical education with a health education emphasis in 2006. 

He helped lead the Eagles to their seventh National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Tournament appearance in school history, including second straight, in 2024. UWL was 36-16 in 2024, advancing to the NCAA Division III Super Regional. The Eagles captured the regional title with a pair of victories over Coe College (Iowa). The 36 victories are tied for second-most in single-season school history. UWL was second at the 2024 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Tournament. 

The Eagles were 14th in the final D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Top-25 Poll.

Manske helped lead the Eagles to their third NCAA Division III Championship in 2023. UWL made back-to-back appearances in 2015 and 2016.  The Eagles finished 36-13 in 2023, tying for the second-most wins in single-season school history.  UWL captured the NCAA Division III Super Regional with a 16-10 victory over UW-Stevens Point. The Eagles advanced to the Super Regionals after winning the NCAA III Regional with a win over Bethel University (Minn.). 

UWL won the 2023 WIAC Tournament with a 3-0 record. The Eagles finished eighth in the final D3baseball.com/NCBWA Poll.

A four-year letter winner as a pitcher for the Eagles, Manske was named to the 1999 All-WIAC Honorable Mention Team.  He was a member of the WIAC Championship team in 2000 and Wisconsin State University Conference Northern Division Champions in 1997. Manske was also a member of the Eagles' 1998 squad which qualified for the NCAA Championships. Manske threw a no-hitter against Winona State University (Minn.) during the 2000 season.

After graduating from UWL, Manske served as pitching coach and varsity assistant coach at La Crosse Central High School from 2001-03. He was the pitching coach at Viterbo University (Wis.) from 2004-09. 

Other coaching experience includes serving as the field manager of the Thunder Bay Border Cats in the Northwoods League in 2007 and pitching coach for the Border Cats in 2005. Thunder Bay won the league championship in 2005. Manske was the pitching coach for the Florence Red Wolves in the Coastal Plains League in 2006 as the team earned a playoff appearance.

Manske resides in Holmen, Wisconsin, with his wife, Carmen, and daughter, Lydia.
