Briel Burg is in her first season as a student assistant coach at UW-La Crosse in 2022-23. A native of Rubicon, Wisconsin, Burg is an exercise sport science with a fitness track major at UWL with a coaching competitive athletics concentration. She plans to graduate in May 2025. Burg earned her associate degree in liberal arts pre-professional health from Madison Area Technical College. She played softball at Madison Area Technical College in 2021, hitting .392 in 38 games. Burg scored 28 runs while recording three doubles, five triples and 12 RBI.Â
Burg served as an assistant basketball coach at Hartford Union High School in 2021-22. She was also a youth camp leader. Burg worked at the Hartford Recreational Center from December 2021 through January 2023, serving as a building supervisor and youth sport seasonal coach.Â
She was a three-sport athlete at Hartford Union, earning seven letters in softball, basketball and volleyball. Burg was a four-year letter winner in softball and was named to the North Shore Conference Second Team as a junior and honorable mention squad her sophomore season. She was a recipient of the Hartford Union Softball Coaches' Award in her junior year. Burg earned three letters in basketball and two in volleyball and served as the basketball team captain as a senior.Â
A certified personal trainer, Burg has worked as a baseball and softball youth umpire since 2016.Â
