2024 Drews/Neubauer Invitational

Welcome to the Drews/Neubauer Invitational at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.  

The Drews/Neubauer is an annual cross country meet in honor of Jim Drews and Tori Neubauer, former UWL All-Americas and National Champions.


Jim Drews won four Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) titles in cross country (1970-73). He also earned three National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-America accolades, placing sixth in 1971, ninth in 1972 and 13th in 1973.  Drews was selected to the All-WIAC Team in 2011 and to the WIAC Hall of Fame in 2018. 

Neubauer won two National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III cross country titles (1982, 1983) and placed sixth at the 1981 Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) Championships.  She also won a pair of WIAC titles in cross country (1982, 1983).  Neubauer placed fifth at the league championships in 1981.  She was selected to the All-WIAC Team in 2011 and named to the WIAC Hall of Fame in 2015.

ENTRY FEE: $200.00 per team/per gender ($400.00 total for a school with both genders). All entries will be paid online through Direct Athletics. LATE ENTRIES WILL REQUIRE A FEE OF $250.00 PER TEAM.

ONLINE ENTRIES: Timing services will be provided by PT Timing. Entries must be submitted online at www.directathletics.com.
ENTRIES OPEN: 12 a.m. (Central) Monday, October 7
ENTRIES CLOSED: 12 p.m. (Central) Tuesday, October 15

OPEN/UNATTACHED: No registration necessary.  Unattached runners simply report directly to the start line. Open/unattached athletes will NOT receive a chip and will NOT appear in the official results.  Open/unattached athletes are NOT eligible for individual awards.  Box 1 will be used for all open/unattached athletes.

AWARDS: No awards ceremony.  The first 25 finishers in the Drews (men’s) and Neubauer (women’s) races will receive awards that will be distributed at the same place packet pick-up takes place. 
 
TIMING: Chip technology will be utilized as the primary timing and scoring system for this meet.  Chips will be distributed in the packets at pick up.  They are disposable and will not need to be returned.   
 
PACKET PICK-UP: Pick-up will occur in the room on the northwest corner of the building from 2-5 p.m. on Friday and 9-10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

COURSE INSPECTION: Inspection will be allowed on Friday afternoon and the morning of the races. 
 
RESTROOMS: Portable units will be available near the start line and team camp areas.
                                              
BUS/TEAM PARKING: Buses and team vans/cars will be parked in the lower lot next to the team camp area. 
                                            
SPECTATOR PARKING:   Spectator parking is $15.00/vehicle.  Please see the spectator parking instructions.

LOCKER ROOMS: Shower and locker room facilities are NOT available at the course.  Participants can shower at Mitchell Hall, UW-La Crosse campus, following the race.  Mitchell Hall is approximately 15 minutes from the meet venue.
